ANANTHAPURICHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

Developmental Assessment

Understanding your child, as a whole

Structured evaluation of communication, learning, behaviour, sensory processing and functional needs.

Who conducts the assessment

Assessment at Ananthapuri CDC is carried out by our senior therapists — speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, clinical psychologist and special educator — depending on your child's presenting concerns. Each is named on our team page with their qualifications and registration.

Your child's assessment is then discussed by our multidisciplinary panel before any therapy plan is written, so the plan reflects the whole child rather than a single discipline's view.

You will then be invited to a counselling session where the plan is explained in full and the detailed written report is handed to you — three working days after the assessment.

We do not have a consulting paediatrician at the centre. Where a medical opinion would help — a neurological, genetic or hearing evaluation, for instance — we will say so clearly and advise you on the appropriate specialist.

What to expect

The assessment, step by step

  1. Before the day

Bring any previous reports, school feedback or medical records you have. Nothing is required — your observations are enough to begin.

  2. On the day

A structured, play-based session with the relevant senior therapists, observing communication, learning, behaviour, sensory processing, motor function and daily living skills.

  3. The panel

Within three working days, a multidisciplinary panel is convened for your child to discuss the findings together.

  4. Your report

At the parent counselling session the plan is explained in full and the detailed written report is handed to you in person.
